New Clip From Jobs Movie Shows How Steve And Wozniak Came Up With Company Name

If you happen to be an avid Apple Inc. fan, or just a general lover of innovative and influential technology then it’s always good to have a trip down nostalgia lane. The Jobs movie – starring Ashton Kutcher – is set for an August 16th release in theatres around the United States. In preparation for that launch, Open Road Films have released a new clip from the movie that not only gives us a taste of what to expect, but also takes us on a trip down memory lane to learn how one of the world’s richest companies came to have the Apple Computers name. The much anticipated indie film was originally aired at the Sundance Festival back in January to much praise, but it’s now only two weeks until a more mainstream audience get to cast their eyes on the relatively low budget creation. For those who simply can’t wait until that theater release date, the latest official clip to be launched shows Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs and Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak sitting in a moving vehicle attempting to come up with a name for the company they have founded.
After dismissing a number of potential names like "Enterprise Computers" and anything that sounds remotely Star Trek related, the penny finally drops when the "fruit of creation" is mentioned. Not only does Apple apparently conjure up images of something that people just want to reach out and grab, but it also comes before Atari in the phonebook, something that made it a very appealing proposition at that time. For any true Apple fan out there, this name creation story shouldn’t come as a surprise, after all, we’ve heard the story directly from Jobs and Wozniak in the past.
As part of the run up to the official launch of the biography the two main stars of the movie, Kutcher and Gads, will be taking part in a YouTube Hangout session tomorrow at 11 AM. The social media based initiative is designed to allow the two main attractions to answer any questions that fans might have about the movie and will be hosted live from the dedicated JOBSthefilm YouTube account. Those who want to get involved can do so using the #AskJobsMovie hashtag. Everyone else can sit patiently until the 16th to see the movie.
